Please Stand By…

It is currently April 3rd, 2020. The whole world is in the grips of a panic caused by a highly contagious respiratory illness called COVID-19. Many people are being asked to stay in their homes. And apparently jigsaw puzzles are having something of a moment.

• On March 16, 2020, Dave Barry (the famous humorist) wrote about his dangerous quest to find a jigsaw puzzle at Target.
• On March 29, 2020, White Mountain Puzzles sent out an email saying they had temporarily stopped taking orders due to a surge in demand.
• On April 3, 2020, Springbok Puzzles sent out an email saying they are going to restricted hours for ordering due to a surge in demand.

The thing that is odd about this moment for me is that I am, apparently, such a homebody and a curator of calm in our house that I already have a nice stack of jigsaw puzzles waiting to be worked. I seemed a little bit insane when I ordered box after box of jigsaw puzzles to my house. BUT WHO’S LAUGHING NOW?

Also to do with this coronavirus pandemic, work is a little slow (completely stopped) so I may finally be able to launch this website where all I want to do is share images of the puzzles we have completed and a few pithy words.
