We played another great “Exit” game over the July 4th weekend. This time it was “Exit: The Forbidden Castle”.
I won’t be giving much away to say that it is themed like a castle and has a variety of puzzles to do with swords, shields, cups, armor, and so on. This one had a great puzzle disc that had sections of variously shaped keys, rather than numbers.
Once again, this game had excellent artwork throughout. The artwork is hand-painted and nice.
The games are a bit expensive and can only be played once. But they never fail to bring the fun and excitement to the evening, so I think they are worth the expense.
We used the Kosmos Helper App to read the instructions to us. This is a bit more fun and social than reading the booklet. When you read the booklet, each person has to take a turn quietly reading it. With the app, we can get enough information about the rules while watching at the same time. If you are new to the game, you will probably want to read the booklet.
Our Kosmos Helper App does this funny thing where it stutters at certain points in almost every sentence. This has been consistent across several games. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the app, or a problem with my device. Does anybody else get this stuttering problem?
Warning! There is one photo in the gallery that shows the game play.
That photo contains spoilers, so avoid that image if you are playing the game soon.
