This was a Springbok puzzle featuring a photo of an inner courtyard in Venice, and we worked the puzzle in February of 2022. I liked spending time with this old world locale that I’m not familiar with. I like the textures, I like the sense of space.

The puzzle was made by Springbok and had a texture I describe as “al dente”. You have to apply some force to get the pieces to lock together, and you better be sure the pieces belong together before you apply this force. Once the pieces are together, they are very solid. I could have picked the whole puzzle up by the corner!

It seems like their puzzle cutter may be have been dull judging by the bulges along the cut lines when the pieces are viewed from the back, and the number of pieces stuck together. But that does not detract from the playability; it’s just one of the many differences between jigsaw puzzles that I appreciate.

The puzzle cut was nice. It was not just a grid of repetitive pieces. The piece shapes are fun and organic and interesting. Check out the detail photos in the gallery to see the puzzle cut.

Thank you, Springbok, we had a good time putting this puzzle together.
